RE: BIG CHANGES ARE COMING SOON (Nov 15 2023)
This may be minor to some but it has been an issue for a long time. Life member notation went away many years ago and it was never fixed. Probably because no one knew how. Will the member status be more accurate now as many will admit they are not Good Sam members but their posts show that they are.
Thanks for finally fixing what used to be a very busy place so that maybe it can get back to its former glory.

RE: Want to keep it looking new
If you store it properly it could be a great garage find in 30 years!

RE: Want to keep it looking new
A fully enclosed shed where it never leaves. If you use it, it will be exposed to elements and even the best products can only slow the aging process. Vinyl shrinks as it ages no matter what you do so it is a battle between shrinking vinyl and adhesive. Adhesive eventually wins.

Aside from losing bed space you also lose payload. Consider that.

RE: Re-coating Wheels
A body shop can strip and recoat the entire wheel with automotive paint. As noted above, they will need the tires dismounted. Had four aluminum rims for our Rav4 redone about two years ago. It was about $150 per rim. No exposed aluminum like most trailer wheels. Looked nicer with matching rims!

RE: McHitch couolings are available again in the US
Wouldn't a hitch for heavy trailers need a way to distribute weight?

RE: Robot Tolls - At My Limit!
Send them a check.
That is what it has come down to. I am going to do that for sure. I just don’t know if the system will be updated properly with the $24 or not. Everything else has failed so far so the confidence level is pretty low.
Maybe you will get lucky and they will put the check into your account so you have funds for other tolls. If the system is so messed up it just might happen.

RE: McHitch couolings are available again in the US
That is a typical European/Australian trailer hitches. They work with smaller trailers that are well balanced fore and aft as it is not a heavy load bearing hitch and is not a weight distribution hitch. Here it could (if it is truly DOT certified) be used on teardrops, smaller popups and some small lightweight travel trailers.

RE: Weight Distribution Shank....2.5" receiver end X 18" Long
Here is a fairly easy fix. Get a reducer made that is the full length of the receiver sleeve. That is probably the easiest solution as it could probably be ordered from companies that make the standard ones.
Etrailer has a 12" one.

They have no liability when it is made to your specs. Used to have a machine shop and that was part of legal 101.

RE: Generator bogging when A/C is turned on
Is it possible more is on the 110 feed than you think? If the reefer is a two way it will default to electric and if the water heater electric is on you now have three items getting fed by your generator along with the converter making 12 volts to power lights and other items like propane and CO detectors and other items.
This may add up to more than your generator is comfortable with.

RE: Need ideas for stabilizer jack pads.
Are you looking to spread the load or add grip to the jacks? We have a TT but have found cement sites tend to allow movement of the stabilizers so I riveted 5/8" horse pad to the bottoms of the stabilizers. It also covers us when we are in those snarky campgrounds where something has to be under the gear. Two have come to chastise me and after they finish the rant I tell them to look carefully. It is even on the bottom of the tongue jack.

RE: Can I Dump Through Sewer Vent?
If you want to make things easier, dig down around that pipe and you will find a clean out cover. Unscrew the cover and put a PVC fitting in so you can raise it to just below grade and put a fitting for a 4" plug to screw in. Then you can use standard sewer fittings even if you are using a macerator. The clean out plug may never be used and if it needs to be used all you have to do is unscrew your extension. By keeping it just below grade it will be your secret.

RE: Can I Dump Through Sewer Vent?
I lived on Lawn Guy Land for almost 60 years and that pipe is all over the place. Chances are the OP has a cesspool that was filled in when sewers got into the area. We lived in an area that had no sewers but everybody had that pipe. I made the mistake of asking a plumber to put in a port so the rv tanks could be drained into it. Two days after the request a Suffolk County official was at the door telling me it was against code to put anything but output from a house into it. Seemed to not be bright enough to understand that my rv is a house by legal definition.
We had another cesspool put in ( no permits needed for a second pool ) and all it was for was the rv. Not even plumbed to the house. Broke thru one of the knockouts and plumbed it to about two feet from the rv waste port. Folks who bought the house said that waste hookup was what clinched the deal as they had a motorhome.
Bottom line: do whatever you want on Long Island as long as nobody sees it.

RE: Sensitive headlight sensor
Some designers are better at those sensors than others. Seems the Ram trucks have a short delay before the lights come on. Works well on all my journeys down treed roads.

RE: Take apart signal lite switch? - Hi beam on with right turn
Most assemblies in vehicles are not repairable as they are riveted, welded or bonded together. Your signal switch seems to have done you well for the last 16 years and it is time to retire it and move on.

We have GS roadside assistance and when I got stuck in the mud behind the house they sent two trucks because the only path was a curve. The only cost was supplying the guys with cold drinks for the two hours it took. Never got a bill.
